Welcome to the new webpage of AAIDRO, the Archdiocese of Arusha Development and Relief Organization.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to familiarize yourselves with our projects and activities. Since more than 57 years, the Archdiocese of Arusha plays an active part in the people’s lives in Tanzania, and we are happy to inform you that contrary to the worldwide decline of disciples of the two major Christian Churches we enjoy constant growth with now close to 538.000 members within an area of 67.340 sq km.

Above number may look impressive, however, on the part of our Church`s strategic development mission, there is still lots to be done.  Within the vast area of the Archdiocese remain many undeserved communities who live in poverty, and whose range of socio-economic and development needs have to met.

Of course we are aware of the fact that being part of a globalized society in the 21st century, we have to face the challenges and responsibilities that come with it. Be it the worldwide climate change, personal problems, difficulties at school or at work. Especially young people in our communities are in need of trustworthy, reliable partners who provide counsel, offer guidance and directions beyond the known mass media.

With our associates in the various projects we already work closely with the communities in the seven districts – Arusha District, Arumeru, Monduli, Longido, Ngorongoro, Karatu and Arusha rural -  of the Archdiocese in order to help create a sustainable living for all.
